Union Cycliste Internationale showcases its commitment to workplace Gender Equality in the Sustainability case studies of the International Federation Sustainability Project

The International Olympic Committee (IOC) initiated the International Federation (IF) Sustainability Project in 2016 to provide an overview of the IFs' sustainability initiatives to identify common topics, challenges and best practices among the IFs.

Union Cycliste Internationale (UCI), the world governing body for cycling became the first sports federation to receive the EDGE Certification Seal for gender equality.

According to Amina Lanaya, the first woman to hold the position of Director General at UCI,
“the theme of gender equality is a priority for UCI”.

The UCI is currently actively working towards the second level of certification, EDGE Move. The next steps of the process include defining and implementing internal policies concerning: Work flexibility, Promotion of diversity and integration, Pay equity and Prevention of all forms of harassment in the workplace.
