About the role

The person in this role is responsible for leading EDGE’s internal and external communications. This person will develop our long-term strategic communications for the betterment of our client’s brands and the EDGE’s brand. She/He plays a pivotal role in supporting a wide array of EDGE clients’ internal and external communications on their EDGE Certification.

Responsibilities:

  • Lead all internal and external communications including press office services.
  • Devise and manage proactive and reactive media engagement strategies.
  • Monitor all media channels on workplace gender equality and sustainability.
  • Develop content and manage all social media channels (LinkedIn and Twitter).
  • Write press releases, pitch letters, key messages, media recap reports and interview briefing sheets.
  • Create, manage and optimize paid LinkedIn business development campaigns.
  • Maintain and develop EDGE relevant conference and news calendar, as well as press and client contact lists.
  • Coordinate and conduct all client communications workshops.
  • Ensure all collateral or media assets are in place for each client certification or story: i.e. background information, written copy, content for website, blogs, social media accounts, technical stats, imagery, video content, logos etc.
  • Conduct regular reviews to evaluate ongoing progress, including general media monitoring across all media channels
  • Draft, distribute and follow certification and news announcements across all channels.

Required Skills and Experience

  • Higher university degree
  • 10+ years of strategic communications experience, in client facing communications roles, managing multiple aspects of media relations, digital media and branding.
  • Excellent verbal, written, interpersonal and group communication skills.
  • Experience managing social media/other digital platforms, particularly LinkedIn
  • Proven ability to conduct comprehensive analysis of information to tight deadlines ensuring accuracy and relevance.
  • Proven proficiency in the use of database and Internet tools, spread sheets, word processing, social media platforms and their monitoring tools.
  • Ability to convey key messages appropriately and present convincingly, listening to audience’s needs and adapting content accordingly.
  • Fluency in English and German, additional languages are beneficial.

Required Characteristics:

  • Have a good feel for communications work, with an interest in the daily news agenda and experience of media handling.
  • Have an understanding of and passion for gender equality and sustainability.
  • entrepreneurial spirit, team player, ‘can-do’ attitude, and willingness to go the extra mile.
  • Proactive and willing to spend time devising the right solution to achieve targets.
  • Flexibility and adaptability to the demands of each situation.
